Decades Of Experience
Buderim Landscape Centre began as ‘Big Garden Centre’ back in 1977, providing Sunshine Coast residents with quality landscape materials. Tony Johnson and his family purchased the business in 2003. Since then it has grown significantly, with the addition of a nursery and a range of convenient shopper services.
Joining forces with the Plants Plus franchise group, Tony has completely rejuvenated the machinery, office and shopping environment of this 40-year-old business.
In 2004, Tony’s tireless efforts to transform the business were recognised with the Best First Time Exhibitor award at the Nambour Garden Expo. The following year our business was recognised as the Best Plants Plus Nursery in Queensland. 15 years later, Buderim Landscape Centre continues to thrive, with a large customer base of local gardeners and professional tradespeople.

Tony has a background in Human Resources with two of Australia’s largest resources companies, BHP Billiton and Western Mining Corporation. Tony has an MBA in International Business and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources. Tony has grown, systemised and modernised the BLC over the last 19 years and seeks to continuously improve the operation.
Marnie has operated her own bookkeeping business and is also a qualified trainer and instructor in the health and fitness industry. Marnie is responsible for all administration matters, accounts receivables and payables.
Jo has had a lengthy association with retail nurseries. In New Zealand, Jo managed the nursery department for Palmers Garden World for some 8 years prior to joining the BLC team in 2008. Jo is responsible for our nursery stock and sales.
Alex is our newest team member, Alex has recently completed his Cert 3 in Horticulture and provides us with support in both the Shop and Nursery departments.
Paul has a background in garden centres and retail and works with us on a casual basis in both Nursery and Shop departments.
Nathan has extensive experience in Landscape Supplies and trucking operations in Victoria. He takes on the role of Operations Manager with a view to ongoing improvements in product quality and customer service.
Martin has an extensive background in trucking operations across Australia. Martin operates all our delivery trucks and yard mobile equipment.
Greg has a background in Forestry and Mining. His role at the BLC is with yard sales, equipment operation and maintenance, and delivery services.
Deano has an extensive background in trucking with experience in a number of vehicle types ranging from B Doubles and semi trailers and body trucks. He also operates a variety of mobile earthmoving equipment.
James is one of our bagging boys, responsible for all our bagged products. These hardworking and wonderful young men shovel sand, soil, pebbles and mulch into bags for our customers to enjoy.
Brian has had a extensive background in Heavy Rigid trucking with his own concrete truck operations until recently.
Thomas mows the lawns and is also one of our bagging boys, responsible for all our bagged products. These hardworking and wonderful young men shovel sand, soil, pebbles and mulch into bags for our customers to enjoy.
John is one of our bagging boys, responsible for all our bagged products. These hardworking and wonderful young men shovel sand, soil, pebbles and mulch into bags for our customers to enjoy.
Cooper is responsible for whipper snipping lawn edges and is also one of our bagging boys, responsible for all our bagged products. These hardworking and wonderful young men shovel sand, soil, pebbles and mulch into bags for our customers to enjoy.
